Melissa Delaney
She’s not a lawyer. She’s the marketing advisor lawyers call. As the President of
PI Presence, Delaney works behind the scenes with plaintiff lawyers across the country, helping them to sharpen their message, elevate their brand, and make sure that their names are present in the minds of potential clients.
With over a decade of legal marketing experience—and a former leadership role with the Legal Marketing Association’s West Region—Delaney has built a reputation for translating big-brand polish into practical strategies that lean teams can actually use.
“I love to work with the people doing five jobs,” she says. “The attorney who’s also managing intake and the paralegal who just got put in charge of the firm’s website. They need clear, ethical tools to market smarter—not louder.”
Delaney presents and writes on legal marketing for the Federal Bar Association, Finance Digest, and other associations and publications. She regularly incorporates legal ethics into her marketing education, a quickly evolving area with the rapid development of artificial intelligence and social media.
Her approach? Strategy over noise. Clarity over clichés. And always, client-first messaging. “Legal marketing isn’t magic—it’s execution. The goal isn’t just to be seen. It’s to be trusted.”
As she would say, “In a crowded market, the most compelling presence wins.”
